Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Detroit Chesterfield

We got a really good price because we were staying during a weekday. Overall, I was happy with the stay. The beds were comfortable and pretty much what I would expect for the price. Only 4 stars instead of 5 because the mini fridge in the room had a spill in it, we told front desk and they sent someone to clean it right away, which was nice but it should have been cleaned in the first place. Everything else appeared reasonably clean and I was surprised by some of the very negative reviews. If you are looking for a white glove cleaned room, you probably want to go for a more expensive hotel. The pool was clean and warm. It's a 4.5 foot deep pool so it's not huge but plenty big enough for me and the kiddo to splash around in. No hot tub or sauna. I saw they had a treadmill and elliptical in the work out room and a large set of weights, I didn't use them but they looked nice. Their breakfast was a little nicer than other hotels I have stayed in at this price. Waffles, oatmeal with several toppings to choose from including blueberries, muffins, mini omelettes, eggs, sausage, fruit, juice, milk. They had public wifi and the desk and chair in the room were comfortable to work at and I was able to do some work remotely while I was there. Overall, I was happy with the stay.

I was greeted by Phyllis at check-in. She is the star of the show. Her personality and willingness to help really made me feel welcomed to this establishment. The hotel itself is in good repair although my room had the ceiling seams opening up. The room was very clean and they serviced it once while I was there. The indoor pool was clean and warm, but the gym left a lot to be desired. The breakfast was your standard fare and nothing to right about. But, one day, they seemed to run out of everything and there was no one to be found anywhere. It was very strange, but no apologies it anything else were offered. I saw Phyllis that night after returning from work and once again has a wonderful engaging conversation. Even though there were these missteps, I would still stay here again. Because of the minor issues I am giving them a 4 instead of a rating. Phyllis prevented it from getting a rating of 3.

I’ve stayed in many a hotel.. this one is by far the most decent. Most especially when it comes to customer service. Everyone I’ve encountered here has been extremely helpful, polite, and kind. But I do want to especially point out that Phyllis.. the woman working the front desk tonight (i hope i spelled correctly, part of her name tag was covered) was most especially kind, helpful, very much went above and beyond.. I have the utmost gratitude for her. She does her job very well and then some.. very pleasant and helpful woman. I will come back here anytime and everytime i need to come to this town just because of Phyllis’s kindness, and sunny disposition. Shout out to Phyllis. I hope her coffee is always warm, she never gets stuck in traffic, her pillow is always cool, and that her paychecks are always more than she thought they would be.

Generally clean room and nice and quiet too. The lemon ice water at the front desk was a nice touch. No towels available in pool area forcing the usage of bathroom towels out of the room we were staying in. My wife got a container of chocolate milk that had gone bad during the breakfast.

We stayed there because of my nephew Tyler wedding. It was a really nice place. Me and my husband liked it very much.

Very nice place to stay front desk from Andrea, to Ryan welcome here open arms I mean that’s what you call Customer Service and then that nature will definitely come back been here for a long time and they come here for a long time and this is one of my favorite spots titanium member, Mr. Crim

Had a class here, twelve weeks in a row, and it was a nice place.It was always very clean, quiet and professional.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The rooms are comfortable. The staff is friendly and welcoming. A special thank you to Bryan in maintenance, to Lyriq at the front desk, and the team that cleans the rooms. We also want to acknowledge Phyllis at the front desk who was the friendliest and kindest person we have encountered ever in our travels. It was obvious that other guests felt the same way about Phyllis as we heard many people stopping to have friendly conversations with her.
